Day of Competition
Ursvik Ultra starts at midnight between Saturday March 27:th and Sunday March 28:th 2010 with Ursvik Ultra 75 km and the Relay Class. Ursvik Ultra light 45 km starts at. 03.00 (wintertime, 3 hours after the start of Ursivk Ultra 75km). The finish is estimated to be around 07.00 am (08:00 summertime) on Sunday morning for winners in all classes. Please observe that the time is change to summertime during the race.

Event Location
TC is “Ursvik Motionsgård” in Sundbyberg. The competition runs on the 15 kilometer track, also known as the Extreme track. The track is quite hilly and consists of a combination of illuminated track and major and minor trails. The ground/surface tends to vary between the years. Sometimes the ground is dry and hard, sometimes muddy, sometimes icy/snowy. Four years ago, large parts of the route were covered with packed snow. The last three years the race has been run on bare ground..

Classes


Ursvik Ultra 75 km:


 

5 laps on the 15 km track. Separate men's and women's classes. Start at 00.00 (midnight) between Saturday March 27th and Sunday March 28th 2010.


 

Ursvik Ultra Light 45 km:


 

3 laps on the 15 km track. Separate men's and women's classes. Start at 03.00 am Sunday March 28th 2010 (03.00 am wintertime, 3 hours after the start of Ursivk Ultra 75km)


 

Relay class 5 × 15 km


 

The team consists of 2-5 participants who divide the 5 laps between them. If the team consists of two people, participant number 1 may therefore run 2 laps and the participant number 2 runs 3 laps. It is only allowed to change/switch runner at the end/start of every lap (i.e. in the exchange area at TC). Men, women and mixed teams compete in the same class. Start at 00.00 (midnight) between Saturday Mars 27th and Sunday Mars 28th 2010.


Rules
• It is not allowed to tow each other.
• Each participants carry all drinks and energy for themselves
• All garbage from bars and gels must be carried back to the transition area, not thrown in the wild
• Support is only allowed in the transition area (TC)

• The maximum competition time is 12 hours and last time to start a new lap is at. 9.00 am (09:00 am wintertime, 9/6 hours after the start).
• The relay teams may only change runners in the transition area (TC)

Equipment
Most parts of the race take place in the dark and a reliable headlamp is therefore highly recommended. Parts of the race consist of illuminated track which will be lit. The sun goes up at around 05.30 am (wintertime) or 06:30 (summertime). The track can be slippery, particularly in some slopes. Therefore, we recommend shoes with metal ice prods (for example IceBug shoes).

Energy (food and drink)
Energy drink from Maxim, water, bananas, buns e.t.c. will be served at the transition area. Bring a water/liquid belt or camelback for water supply out on the track.

Timing
The runners times will be register with the SportIdent-system. Each runner borrows a Sportident-stick at registration which is then used for the timestamp on the track.

Change of clothes and shower
Ursvik Motionsgård will be open all night (from 06:00 pm March 27:th). There you can find both shower and sauna. There is also a small exercise hall where you can roll out a sleeping pad and rest if you want.

Registration takes place via the website www.ursvikultra.se. After March 17:th you can still register on this homepage or at TC but at an increased fee, see below. Payment to bank account (giro) 5347-6032. Please mark your payment with name and class.

A memo (PM) with the final details of the contest will be published on the website www.ursvikultra.se approximately 1 week prior to the competition.

Communications
Nearest Subway station is Hallonbergen on the blue line towards Akalla. From Hallonbergen there is about 700 meters to walk to the TC. You can also take bus 504 and get off at the stop “Sundbypark södra”. From there it is about 200 m. See www.sl.se for timetables. It is also possible to get to Ursvik Motionsgård by car. Ursvik is next to E18 and there are plenty of parking spaces.
